American woman almost threw $2 million winning lottery ticket in the trash
The husband checked the numbers on the scratch card and discovered he had won $2 million before his wife threw it in the trash.

However, the husband stopped his wife and personally checked the numbers on the ticket. He was surprised to discover that the number "03" on the ticket matched one of the 5 winning numbers, bringing home a prize of 2 million USD.To be sure, the husband asked a local lottery seller to double check.
The couple came to claim their prize on the evening of April 3, asking to remain anonymous. "We didn't expect to be lucky, so it was a big surprise," the man said.
They opted for a one-time payment of $1.7 million, rather than 30 annual payments of more than $86,000. They plan to use the bonus to pay for their children's college education.
