Woman suspected of being drunk, mistakenly stepped on the gas pedal of a car, crashed into 10 motorbikes
On the way home from a party, a female BMW driver crashed into nearly ten motorbikes and taxis at an intersection, killing at least one person and seriously injuring many others.
Late on October 21, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga (46 years old, living in District 12 - Ho Chi Minh City) drove a four-seat BMW car at high speed on Dien Bien Phu Street, heading from District 1 to District 2. When reaching Hang Xanh intersection, Binh Thanh District, she continuously hit nearly 10 motorbikes stopped at a red light, throwing many people onto the street.
The car continued to drag a girl about 20 meters on the road and then hit a taxi crossing the street before stopping.

The accident left the girl dragged to her death on the spot. The injured lay scattered at the Hang Xanh intersection. Some tried to wave their hands for help, while others tried to crawl to the side of the road. Locals and authorities took many people to Gia Dinh Hospital in serious condition.

At the scene, nearly a dozen motorbikes, glass, and parts were scattered over a distance of more than 50 meters. The taxi was crushed on the right side, and the driver was trapped inside and was also taken to the emergency room. "When the accident happened, I saw a middle-aged woman step out of the car, she was the driver, her face was very panicked," a male witness recounted the incident.
Ms. Nga is currently being detained by the police at the headquarters. According to her initial confession, this female driver drank alcohol at a party at a restaurant in District 3. Today is also her daughter's birthday.
