(Baonghean) - The situation of production and business establishments using fake and poor quality goods labeled as Vietnamese goods to deceive customers has been alarming in the current market. This not only affects the health of consumers but also affects the reputation of Vietnamese goods.

After a series of incidents of Chinese clothes, shoes, and candies affecting consumers’ health, recently consumers have switched to choosing Vietnamese goods in the hope that Vietnamese goods are both cheap and ensure quality and safety for users. Grasping the tastes of consumers, “Made in Vietnam” stores have sprung up more and more on every street in Vinh City with many different designs and prices.

However, taking advantage of customers' trust, some manufacturers and traders use fake, low-quality goods and label them "Made in Vietnam" to deceive customers, not only clothing and footwear, but also confectionery products in a similar situation. For example, recently, Vinh City Police inspected a confectionery dealer in Vinh Tan Ward and discovered that in addition to smuggling hundreds of kilograms of confectionery of unknown origin, this facility also used packaging equipment to print labels of reputable companies in the Vietnamese market to deceive consumers...

On the part of the authorities, when discussing, they all agreed that at the end of this year, manufacturers and businesses release many goods to the market, and not all consumers are wise enough to distinguish between genuine and fake goods, so the situation becomes more complicated; and the authorities always face difficulties in inspecting, detecting and handling these goods, especially when people's denunciations are still limited, specialized forces are still thin while crimes in this field are increasing and their activities are complicated.

“Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods” seems to no longer be just a slogan but has become a real choice of consumers in our province in particular, the effect is that the market has never seen so many “Made in Vietnam” products as it does today, however, which are genuine Vietnamese goods, which are fake goods, and which are poor quality goods is a difficult problem for consumers. To solve this problem, in addition to the participation of all levels and sectors, first of all, people need to be careful to be “smart consumers” and an equally important thing is to actively participate in informing and denouncing to the authorities the production and trading of fake and poor quality goods taking place in the community; that is also how Vietnamese people can both protect their consumer rights and protect the reputation and honor Vietnamese goods…
