(Baonghean) - Going to Pa Khom - one of the 8 Mong villages along the border of Tri Le commune (Que Phong), all Mong people have affection for the village chief Tho Dua Tenh. Although he is quite young (born in 1977), he has nearly 15 years of experience as a village cadre, from deputy secretary of the Youth Union, police officer to party cell secretary and currently village chief and deputy party cell secretary. Our first impression when meeting Dua Tenh is his friendliness, simplicity, sincerity and openness. Not only is he exemplary in implementing the state's policies and guidelines, the village chief of Pa Khom (Tri Le commune, Que Phong district) Tho Dua Tenh is also a leading party member in hunger eradication and poverty reduction...

In the conversation with us, what Dua Tenh is most proud of is that the people of Pa Khom have known how to change their way of thinking and doing things to bring prosperity and peace to themselves. If in the past, almost every household in the village was hungry, now, thanks to knowing how to develop livestock, grow peaches, cultivate fields, grow wet rice... many households not only "have enough to eat" but also have "savings". The whole village has 30/57 households cultivating fields, growing wet rice and hundreds of chickens, 50 buffaloes, over 300 cows, of which Mr. Tho Giong Nung's family raises 70-80 cows, Tho No Bo's family raises 10 buffaloes...

In addition, Pa Khom villagers also grow cassava and peach trees to sell fruit and branches, the largest household has a few hundred trees, the smallest a few dozen trees. The family of the village chief Tho Dua Tenh is also a typical example of economic development in the village with 200 chickens, 5 cows, 20 pigs, more than 100 peach trees, and an annual income from peach trees of 5-6 million VND... He also bought a milling machine to serve his family and to serve the villagers for free when needed. Dua Tenh said: "If you want the villagers to be satisfied, listen and follow, the cadres must do it first." Therefore, all 9 party members in the Pa Khom Party Cell are exemplary in implementing the policies and laws of the Party and the State; developing the economy, and eliminating hunger and poverty.

In addition to economic development, realizing that learning to read and write is very important to raise awareness and intellectual level of Mong people, Dua Tinh and the village cadres are very interested in the education of their children. All 3 children of the village chief Dua Tinh are given a good education, of which the eldest son is studying in high school in the district. Dua Tinh is also proud to have a younger brother, Tho Dua Tinh - the only Mong person in Pa Khom village, currently studying in the second year of college in Vinh. Recently, the education department organized a cultural supplementary class for secondary school students, the village chief Dua Tinh actively went with the teachers to every house to persuade people to let their children attend the class, as a result, Pa Khom village has 24 students attending the class.

All the teachers love and are grateful to Dua Tenh very much. The village does not have a community cultural house, so the Dua Tenh house has become a place for the whole village to live, including propagating and disseminating laws and new policies of the Party and the State. Tho Ba De - a police officer of Pa Khom village commented: "The village chief and deputy secretary of the Party cell, Tho Dua Tenh, is exemplary and has prestige, so the whole village is grateful. He works in the fields from early morning until late afternoon; and also encourages people in the village and commune to do business and live honestly... so the villagers respect him very much. Currently, Pa Khom village no longer has the phenomenon of illegal migration, the number of opium addicts has decreased significantly, there is no more child marriage, security is stable, the villagers live in harmony... it is the most stable Mong village among the 8 Mong villages in Tri Le".
