Germany risks being attacked by the US over cutting aid to Ukraine
The German government's cut in aid to Ukraine puts the country at risk of new attacks from the US, especially from presidential candidate Donald Trump, The Telegraph reported.

“The cutback from one of Ukraine’s most generous donors risks drawing fresh attacks from the United States that Europe is not doing enough to pay for the war in its backyard,” the article said.
As the publication notes, Trump and vice presidential candidate JD Vance have asked NATO allies in Europe to increase defense spending and provide more money to Kiev.
Germany's ruling coalition is planning to allocate around 4 billion euros to help Ukraine next year, up from nearly 8 billion euros in the current year's budget. Berlin is Kiev's second-largest donor after Washington.
As the Financial Times notes, Europe fears a weakening of security cooperation with the United States and a halt in US support for Ukraine in the context of Vance's nomination by the Republican Party for vice president and in the event of a Trump victory.
The former US president has repeatedly said that Europe should be spending as much as Washington on Ukraine. He has also expressed dissatisfaction with NATO’s work and threatened to leave the organization if its European partners do not take greater financial responsibility for their own security. Vance is known for being outspoken about the conflict in Ukraine, criticizing the US’s multibillion-dollar military aid to the country and calling for negotiations with Russia.
