Nguyen Bieu, a brave and indomitable envoy
That is the theme of the Scientific Conference that will take place on December 24, 2007 in Vinh City, organized by the Nghe An Folk Arts Association in collaboration with the Vocational Training Center for the Disabled and Poor Students.
Nguyen Bieu is a model of righteousness, a brave and indomitable envoy, unique in the history of Vietnam's diplomacy. He was loyal to his country, dared to speak frankly before the enemy, went on a mission without humiliating the king, sacrificed his life to defend righteousness, shining as a shining example of a Dai Viet envoy in the Later Tran period. He was killed by the Ming general Truong Phu in Yen Cu village, near Nghe An citadel. But later, King Le bestowed upon him the title of Phuc Than, ordered the construction of a temple in his hometown, Noi Dien village, Binh Ho commune, now Yen Ho commune, Duc Tho district (Ha Tinh) and conferred the title of Nghia Liet Hien Ung Uy Linh Tro Thuan Dai Vuong, people honored him as Nghia Si Dai Vuong or Nghia Vuong.
Nguyen Bieu, when alive, was intelligent and a good student, passed the Thai Hoc Sinh exam (meaning Doctorate) at the end of the Tran Dynasty. When the Ming army invaded our country, he participated in the resistance war against the Ming under the leadership of King Tran Trung Quang, holding the position of Royal Inspector. Appointed as an envoy to seek investiture, he entered Nghe An citadel in Lam Thanh Son to meet Truong Phu. Truong Phu arranged a feast to test his iron heart, he not only sat down to eat but also wrote a poem about eating a feast to test his iron heart. Unable to shake the will of that loyal envoy, the enemy killed him. Along with Dang Dung, Nguyen Bieu is one of two symmetrical images of the same person, both martial and literary, crystallizing the quintessence and spirit of the nation, living and dying worthy in their time, a time full of hardship, a tragic turning point in the history of the country (idea of Professor Nguyen Hue Chi).
The organization of this scientific conference attended by many famous scientists is to honor Nguyen Bieu, to further brighten his brilliant career and reputation and to revive the resistance war against the Ming army (1407-1413) of the Later Tran Dynasty with events taking place in Nghe An, with Nghe An people such as Nguyen Canh Chan, Nguyen Canh Di, Dang Tat, Dang Dung... to educate patriotism, increase people's pride and encourage the spirit of gratitude to ancestors, gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives for the people and the country, especially the spirit of building society, building the homeland in the days of innovation and integration under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Through this workshop, students of the Vocational Training Center for the Disabled and the Poor will ask to be named after him to always learn the spirit of courage to overcome difficulties to live and work usefully for life. In addition, the Center also wants to call on kind-hearted people to renovate and rebuild the Nguyen Bieu Temple in Yen Thai village, old Nghia Liet commune, now Hung Xuan commune, Hung Nguyen district, next to the historic Lam river, next to dike 42, at the foot of Nghia Liet mountain, a place that many famous scholars previously considered a great scenic spot to add beauty to the great scenic spot and the soulful landscape, sparkling with the miracles of the characters who sacrificed their lives for the nation, for the country...
