On the afternoon of April 12, the Phu Yen Provincial People's Court sentenced defendant Dinh Thien Tuong (37 years old, residing in Tuy Hoa City), former Head of the Civil Enforcement Agency of Tay Hoa District (Phu Yen), to 5 years in prison for abusing his position and authority while enforcing judgments.official duties.
According to the panel of judges, the indictment of the Supreme People's Procuracy prosecuting the defendant Tuong for the crime of abusing his position and authority while performing his official duties is in accordance with the law.
Accordingly, from 2002 to 2006, the defendant Tuong, then an enforcement officer of the Phu Hoa District Enforcement Agency (Phu Hoa District Civil Enforcement Sub-Department), was assigned the task of enforcing the judgment of the Tuy Hoa Town People's Court (now Tuy Hoa City) compelling Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung to repay a loan to the Tuy Hoa Town branch of the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank.
During the execution of the judgment, Tuong fabricated numerous records and incorrectly appraised seized assets, thereby profiting 90 million VND.
The case was discovered by the Phu Yen Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission through the verification of a complaint letter, and then transferred to the Investigation Department of the Supreme People's Procuratorate for investigation and handling.
