"House with 5 Trees" wins British architecture award
At the AR House Awards 2014 ceremony held on June 18 in London, England (June 19 Vietnam time), the Vietnamese project - "House for trees" by Vo Trong Nghia Company Ltd. surpassed hundreds of other architectural projects from around the world to win the only prize this year.

Based on the idea of green potted plants, ancient trees planted on the roof bring green space and fresh air covering the whole house, blending with nature, reducing stress for homeowners and reducing energy consumption.

This is the first project in Vietnam to be constructed with bamboo formwork concrete.

The main architects include Vo Trong Nghia and two Japanese, Masaaki Iwamoto and Kosuke Nishijima, and the construction is undertaken by Wind and Water House (also owned by him).

The project “House for trees” has solved the problem of urban environmental pollution and the lack of trees in crowded and cramped big cities like Saigon or Hanoi.

The project was completed in April 2014, in Tan Binh district, Ho Chi Minh City, on a total area of 226m2.
