Mr. Raña is one of four foreign journalists who participated in the first National Award for Foreign Information, with a series of articles in Spanish about the country and people of Vietnam. These articles were written after his visit to Vietnam in 2014.
Speaking when receiving the award, Mr. Raña expressed his great honor to receive a Vietnamese journalism award and affirmed that in the face of the dominance of Western journalism, journalists from brotherly countries like Vietnam and Argentina need to write more about their own history, about the achievements of economic development, and about the good cooperative relationship between the two countries.
He emphasized that it is a great honor to witness the changes in Vietnam with his own eyes and to write about the history and dynamic development of a heroic nation from the perspective of an Argentine citizen.
Journalist Raña said the deepest impression during his visit to Vietnam was the altruism of our people towards the enemy, as well as the efforts to overcome the devastating consequences of war for a bright future.
