Journalist - Photographer Sy Minh, reporter for Nghe An Newspaper, won the Gold Cup at the 70th International Photo Contest in Japan.
The 70th International Photo Contest in Japan attracted 1,319 authors from 40 countries around the world to participate with 9,037 works. Of which, Vietnam had 148 authors participating with 1,013 works.
Vietnam is the country with the largest number of authors and participating works, ranking 3rd after the host country and India, and the second in the number of awards, winning 13 awards, equal to India, and behind the host country Japan.
At this photo contest, Journalist-Photographer Sy Minh, a political reporter for Nghe An Newspaper, was honored to win the gold cup with his work "Fire". This is the first time a Nghe An author has won the gold cup at this prestigious international photo contest.
By winning the International Gold Cup, Sy Minh contributed to bringing glory to Nghe An province, to the literary, artistic and journalistic circles of Nghe An and Vietnam. The competition held an award ceremony and exhibition in Tokyo, Japan, last May and then rotated to exhibitions in all major cities of Japan until the end of 2010.
