Train stations and airports in Nghe An are crowded during the holiday season.
(Baonghean.vn) - The 5-day holiday of April 30 and May 1, 2024, has many people returning to their hometown of Nghe An for the holiday; in addition, Nghe An is also a locality chosen by many tourists as a resort, so the train station and airport are crowded with passengers.
On the evening of April 26, the SE35 train from Hanoi arrived at Vinh Station, the crowd of people coming down to the station made the platform always bustling. It is known that most of the passengers on this train got on the train right after the last working day on the afternoon of April 26 to return to Nghe An at night.

Mr. Cao Ngoc Tuan - Station Manager of Vinh Railway Transport Station, said: This is the peak period of the holiday, the number of passengers getting on and off Vinh Station is about 4,000/day, 5 times more than normal days and almost equal to the Lunar New Year. Passengers are mainly people returning to their hometowns, and tourists to Nghe An have also increased significantly. For passengers getting on the train at Vinh Station, Nghe An people choose holiday destinations such as Dong Hoi (Quang Binh), Hue, Da Nang, Dieu Tri (Binh Dinh), Hanoi...
In response to the increasing number of passengers, Vietnam Railways has increased the number of trains to serve the needs of the people. Accordingly, in addition to the 4 pairs of Thong Nhat trains running North - South including SE1/2, SE3/4, SE5/6, SE7/8, there is also an additional pair of trains SE11/SE12.

For the Hanoi - Vinh train, in addition to the fixed NA1/2 train pair, 3 more trains have been added on April 26 - 27, including: NA3, NA7 and SE35.
It is known that on May 1, the last day of the holiday, Vietnam Railways will also add more trains from Hanoi to Vinh including NA4, NA12 and SE36. Currently, the number of train tickets on May 1 is still low, because people have booked in advance or bought round-trip tickets.
At Vinh International Airport, the number of landing flights all had higher numbers of passengers than usual. Of which, 5 direct flights including Vinh – Hanoi, Vinh – Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh – Da Lat, Vinh – Buon Ma Thuot and Vinh – Can Tho were all fully booked during the holiday.

Mr. Nghiem Manh Tuan - Director of Vinh International Airport, said: This holiday is a long one, so the number of passengers passing through Vinh International Airport increased by about 50% compared to normal days, with nearly 40 takeoffs and landings, especially on April 27 and May 1 (the first and last days of the holiday).
In contrast to the bustle of train stations and airports, the number of passengers at bus stations during this holiday did not increase compared to normal days. According to the reporter's records on the evening of April 26, at Bac Vinh Bus Station, the number of people getting on and off buses was not as congested as during the recent Lunar New Year.

According to research, Bac Vinh Bus Station currently has 190 registered vehicles, of which the most are Hanoi - Vinh, Vinh - Hue, Vinh - Da Nang... During this year's holiday, because the North - South expressway from Vinh to Hanoi was opened to traffic, many people chose to return to their hometowns or travel by private car on the expressway. This is also one of the reasons why the number of people traveling by bus did not increase as much as in previous holidays.
