Two-story house suddenly collapsed, male student died on the spot

A two-story house built in 1975 suddenly collapsed, crushing the rental house next door, killing a male student who was sleeping on the spot.

The incident occurred at 5:00 a.m. on July 9 at the residential and rental house of Nguyen Thi Binh (about 70 years old) and her daughter Le Ngoc Anh (born in 1965, in Bau village, Kim Chung commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi).

The victim was Tran Huu Dai (born in 1988, from Trieu Son, Thanh Hoa, married with a 5-month-old child), a student at the University of Construction. Dai's rented room had 3 people, but the other two students were returning home for summer vacation, while Dai stayed to both study and work as a worker in the industrial park in Kim Chung.

The collapsed 2-story house of Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh (Mr. Le Ngoc Anh's mother) is located next to the row of rented houses. Mr. Anh lives in another house far away from the row of rented houses.

According to the Dong Anh District Police Investigation Agency, the cause was determined to be that Ms. Binh's two-story house was degraded and collapsed the next morning due to heavy rain the night before. Part of the house's wall collapsed onto the rented house, crushing the bed where student Dai was sleeping, causing the victim to die on the spot.

Mrs. Binh was lucky to escape death while hiding in the bed.

Authorities are carrying out forensic procedures to hand over the victim's body to his family for burial./.
