Mr. Tao Duc Thang, General Director of Viettel Network Corporation said: Viettel uses a solution to flexibly convert voice calls and SMS messages to 2G, so the 3G network will only focus on serving the data needs of customers. In addition, we have also planned to arrange and increase human resources to ensure the operation and exploitation process, preparing plans to ensure the maximum benefits for customers.

For VinaPhone network, the most important point in the efforts to best serve customers' communication needs during the Tet holiday is to complete the project to improve capacity and expand the network system equipment capacity with new technologies such as: upgrading HSPA+ (3.5G) for all 63 provinces and cities, applying automatic optimization technology (Intucell) to improve 3G network quality in major cities, expanding GPRS/EDGE capacity for 2G network... It is the research and application of technology for each area that has solved the problem of local congestion and congestion in major cities. In parallel with the completion of upgrading and expanding the 3G GPRS network bandwidth up to 60Gbps to ensure safety and service quality for customers during Tet, VinaPhone has added measures to prevent local network congestion, broadcast nearly 800 new stations, and focused on optimizing the quality of the 2G/3G network in 20 key provinces, including Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Hai Duong, Thai Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien - Hue, Quang Nam, and provinces in the Southwest... ensuring a 60% - 70% increase in traffic backup compared to normal days.

Joining hands to ensure network traffic during the Lunar New Year, MobiFone has completed maintenance, upgrading, expansion, network optimization, training and staffing, ready to meet the sudden increase in demand for mobile information services during the holiday, ensuring that there is no network congestion during these days.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chien, Deputy General Director of MobiFone affirmed: MobiFone's current equipment systems are always upgraded and expanded in terms of hardware, software, and new advanced features. Therefore, the situation of sudden and widespread congestion during Tet no longer occurs as before. MobiFone has also increased 1,000 transceiver groups across the network to increase congestion prevention for high traffic areas; mobilized 8 mobile transceiver vehicles to crowded places and especially transferred some hardware devices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from low traffic areas to areas expected to have high traffic...

Customers and network operators fight congestion

To celebrate Tet with more joy and to ensure smooth communication during Tet, Viettel, MobiFone and VinaPhone recommend that customers work together to prevent congestion with the network operator by the following measures: When a call cannot be made, users should wait a few minutes before calling back. When sending a New Year greeting message at the time of New Year's Eve or the morning of the first day of Tet, do not send a message to too many phone numbers at the same time or call or text before or after the time of New Year's Eve or the morning of the first day of Tet to make the greeting complete; do not contact many times when the network is congested, use 3G to reduce the load on 2G; encourage the use of MMS messages and turn off the reporting mode (Delivery reports); compose messages within the allowed character limit of a message, avoid being too long...

In addition to advising customers, the three networks above also arrange staff to be on duty 24/24 hours, deploy timely information rescue plans when incidents occur to ensure smooth communication for customers during the upcoming Lunar New Year. Expand the capacity of transmission lines for high-traffic 3G stations, inter-station transmission, inter-network transmission.

In addition, the networks also expanded their internal and external transmission capacity, arranged for more mobile broadcasting and receiving vehicles in the city center during New Year's Eve and festivals, and deployed plans to be ready to respond to information when incidents occur.
