Poet Vi Thuy Linh receives Capital Literature Award

The Capital Literature Award ceremony of the Hanoi Association of Literature and Arts will take place on the morning of June 12 in Hanoi. Due to the late awarding of the 2011 award, the 9 professional associations of the Hanoi Association of Literature and Arts have just nominated their outstanding works. The Hanoi Writers Association has nominated the only literary work, which is Phim doi – Tinh tu chan.
Couple Film – Slow Love (Thanh Nien Publishing House 12/2010) is Vi Thuy Linh's 5th poetry collection, a work she dedicated to her beloved Hanoi, attracting attention with two impressive debut nights in Hanoi in 2011 on January 10 and April 3 (April Link art night).
This 620 gram book is also full of the love of a person who loves Hanoi passionately. She grieves for the ancient beauty and romance that have been destroyed and lost, but she cherishes and preserves them with her creative soul through poems written for Hanoi in her own style. From Long Bien Bridge, West Lake, poetic streets, familiar shops, the Opera House, flower seasons, beauties... all appear through the unique depiction of visual thinking.
Currently, poet Vi Thuy Linh is busy organizing the production of two books at the same time: ViLi & Paris (poetry), ViLi essays, which will be released in August 2012. It is expected that she will launch these two works at the Hanoi Opera House with an art night gathering many famous artists with unique performances.
She confided: “As a writer who grew up and is attached to Hanoi, I am always aware that Hanoi is a great and lasting subject in my life. I love this city so much and call Hanoi the Eternal Love City. This love continues to be expressed in the first collection of prose that is about to be published, part 5, the most important part, taking up the largest amount of space, is dedicated to Hanoi”./.
