White House announces US will not aid Ukraine indefinitely

At a White House press conference on October 11 (local time), White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby said that the US will not provide indefinite military support to Ukraine.

“Today we approved the allocation of $200 million to Ukraine, and we will continue to provide as much assistance as possible, but the assistance will not be endless,” said John Kirby.

In the short term, the US has enough resources to support Ukraine and Israel, Kirby said. However, he declined to clarify what “in the short term” meant. The official said much depends on how much ammunition the IDF uses and how much the Israeli military-industrial complex can supply to its troops.

This new military aid package for Ukraine includes AIM-9M ammunition for new air defense systems, as well as artillery shells, anti-tank weapons, and anti-drone equipment.

Commenting on these statements by the White House National Security Council's strategic communications coordinator, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said that the United States could easily and quickly reach a solution to the conflict in Ukraine by stopping providing military aid to Kiev.

According to Ambassador Antonov, the US continues to propose a strong solution to the Ukraine crisis, as well as efforts to “exhaust and bleed Russia”. However, the diplomat stressed that the new aid package for Ukraine will not solve the problems raised by Washington.

“The counteroffensive has failed. The Kiev government is on its last legs. Western supplies only delay the prospects of ending the bloody conflict,” said Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov.
