Musician of "I Dream of Meeting Uncle Ho" Passes Away
Mr. Xuan Hoan, the second son of musician Xuan Giao, has just confirmed that musician Xuan Giao passed away at 7:25 p.m. on August 21. "For many years, his health has been getting worse after suffering three strokes and a gallbladder surgery. This year, my father was hospitalized for two months. After that, he just lay in one place and could not talk.", Mr. Xuan Hoan shared.
The musician's funeral will be held at 7:30 a.m. on August 26 at Funeral Home No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi. The memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. the same day and the body will be taken to the Hoan Vu Crematorium.

Born in 1932, musician Xuan Giao was originally from Hung Yen but grew up in Hai Phong. As a child, the musician was good at literature and was often assigned to write wall newspapers at school.
The late musician's musical career began when he became a bass singer of the General Political Department's Song and Dance Troupe. After 1960, the artist worked as an editor at the Music Publishing House. During this time, he edited books and composed music.
Xuan Giao's compositions are divided into two genres, one for children, typically I dream of meeting Uncle Ho, I love the Capital... Besides The Girl Who Opens the Road, Xuan Giao is also the author of many other famous red music songs.
In 2001, musician Xuan Giao awarded the State Prize for the song I Dreamed of Meeting Uncle Ho.
