Received 300 million VND promised to help 'get into' police academy then escaped
After receiving 300 million VND from a family in Ha Nam province to "buy" their son into a police school, Nguyen Manh Thang repeatedly broke his promise and fled his residence.
On April 22, the Hanoi City Police Investigation Agency announced that it had just issued a special wanted notice for Nguyen Manh Thang (born in 1982, residing in Ngoc Khanh ward, Ba Dinh district) for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

According to the investigation, in 2015, Thang received 200 million VND from a family in Ha Nam province, promising to help their son get admitted to a police school, even though this person did not have enough points and Thang himself had no right to intervene in the admission process.
In 2016, Thang continued to request an additional transfer of 100 million VND with the reason "the application is being reviewed".
The total amount of money Thang embezzled was 300 million VND.
After many broken promises and prolonged delays, the promised student was still not admitted to the school as promised. The family asked for a refund but Thang refused to pay and then fled the place of residence.
On December 20, 2024, the police decided to prosecute Nguyen Manh Thang for "Fraudulent appropriation of property". However, the subject fled, so the Hanoi City Police issued an arrest warrant.special wanted.
If Nguyen Manh Thang is found anywhere, people can immediately report to the Hanoi City Police Department of Investigation (Phone: 0972.178.968) or the nearest police agency for handling according to the law.
