The monument was built at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, Tuyen Quang city, located at the foot of Tho Son mountain, on an area of ​​8.5 hectares.

During the resistance war against French colonialism and the August Revolution, Uncle Ho spent nearly 6 years living and working in more than 20 different locations in Tuyen Quang. *On the morning of May 19, Bac Lieu province organized a tree planting ceremony to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh's 122nd birthday.

Speaking at the tree planting launching ceremony, Mr. Le Thanh Dung, Standing Vice Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee affirmed that sustainable economic development must go hand in hand with protecting the ecological environment. In which, planting trees, afforestation and protecting forests and trees are important and urgent tasks both in the short term and in the long term.

Up to now, the whole province has planted, cared for and protected more than 1,000 hectares of concentrated forests, nearly 2,000 hectares of protective forests and more than 4.5 million scattered trees and fruit trees of all kinds. Implementing the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", Vinh Long currently has more than 26.5% of the population participating in regular sports training. The whole province has 1,070 clubs and sports training points, most of which were formed from socialization work. In addition, 100% of schools in the area implement physical education programs in the curriculum and 80% of schools have extracurricular sports movements.

The total construction cost of the project is about 37 billion VND, sponsored by Vingroup Group, and constructed by the Petroleum Urban Development Joint Stock Company. The main construction items include a documentary film screening house about Uncle Ho, an exhibition area for artifacts, a greenhouse, a sovereignty stone area; technical infrastructure systems include leveling the lake embankment, traffic systems, drainage, lighting, trees, lawns, and lightning protection and sound systems. In addition, the project also invests in the construction of auxiliary works including: fence gates, guardhouses, garages, etc.

According to plan, the project to upgrade, restore and embellish Uncle Ho's memorial will be completed and put into use by the end of 2012.

*On May 19, at Bach Dang Square (Soc Trang city), the 13th Soc Trang Provincial Cross Country Race 2012 was held on Uncle Ho's birthday.

The tournament attracted nearly 3,000 athletes from 32 units from districts, towns, cities, schools, departments, branches and armed forces in the province. The athletes competed in 2 distances: 1.5km for women (team, team, individual), and 3km for men (same event).
