People along Highway 7A - Welcoming martyrs from Laos back home

(Baonghean.vn) -On April 22, in Xieng Khouang province - Lao PDR, right after the handover ceremony of 72 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos, the Nghe An Provincial Special Working Group organized a ceremony to bring the remains of the martyrs back to the country. On April 23, people on National Highway 7A gathered on both sides of the road with red flags with yellow stars and the Lao flag to welcome the soldiers back to their homeland.

A large number of cadres, armed forces, students and people of all ethnic groups in the districts of Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong and Anh Son gathered to welcome the heroic martyrs returning from Laos. The path of the heroic martyrs returning home is always remembered by the people with deep gratitude. They sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, for the special and loyal international friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

In 2012-2013, the leaders of the three provinces of Nghe An - Xieng Khouang and Vientiane closely coordinated and created favorable conditions for the Collection Team - Provincial Military Command to search and collect 168 sets of remains, of which 72 remains were collected in the second phase - dry season of 2012-2013. This evening, the Provincial Special Working Group will bring the martyrs to Do Luong district, the memorial service and burial will take place on the morning of April 24 at the Do Luong District Martyrs Cemetery according to national protocol.
