Received two red cards, Barca still entered the King's Cup final
While Barca's Sergio Roberto and Luis Suarez were sent off, Atletico Madrid could only manage a 1-1 draw in the second leg of the semi-final and lost 2-3 on aggregate.
Second leg goals: Luis Suarez 43' - Kevin Garmeiro 83'
Red cards: Sergio Roberto 57', Luis Suarez 90' - Yannick 69'
The second leg of the semi-final was far more tense than expected, with more red cards than goals. Barca were short-handed before Sergi Roberto was shown a second yellow card in the 57th minute for a high kick. Twelve minutes later, Atletico lost their advantage when Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco fouled Arda Turan. As the game entered its final minute, Luis Suarez was sent off after a foul on Koke. In total, the referee issued 11 yellow cards and three red cards in 96 minutes.

Before falling short of a man, Barca managed to score an important goal that decided their ticket to the final. It was Luis Suarez who successfully finished with an accurate rebound in the 43rd minute, after goalkeeper Moya blocked Messi's powerful shot. This was also the second goal Suarez scored against Atletico in the semi-finals.
Atletico's efforts in the second half only helped them level the score in the second leg, but they could not create a miracle based on the advantage of having more players. After missing a penalty in the 80th minute, striker Kevin Garmeiro tapped the ball into an empty net from close range to equalize 1-1 from a favorable cross from Antoine Griezmann.
Barca could have played better if Neymar had not been available. The striker was forced to make way for Turan due to his suspension. Without Neymar, Barca's attack relied more on Messi's creative efforts. Against Atletico's solid defense, Messi could only shine once when he dribbled and shot to create a scoring opportunity for Suarez. In this situation, M10 excellently fooled two defenders before unleashing a powerful shot that goalkeeper Moya had to push out. Suarez's remaining task was to be there at the right time to connect with an empty net.

On the other side of the field, Atletico's attack also caused many problems for Barca's defense. Griezmann was one of the most outstanding players, constantly appearing at "hot spots". What was regrettable for Atletico fans was that Griezmann did not take responsibility for the penalty kick in the 80th minute. Garmeiro took this penalty and missed. It took three minutes for the "sinner" to make up for his mistake with an equalizer.
In the final, Sergi Roberto and Luis Suarez will be suspended due to two red cards. Barca's opponent for the championship will be the winner of the Alaves - Celta Vigo match (first leg of the semi-final ended 0-0).
