Vietnamese workers work as nurses in hospitals in Japan |
Vietnam is the third country, after the Philippines and Indonesia, to officially have a cooperation agreement to send nursing and caregiving candidates to work and study in Japan - the world's leading developed country in medical services and health care.
To participate in this program, workers must meet the following standards: Nurses must have graduated from a general nursing college (3 years) or a general nursing university (4 years); be under 35 years old and meet health requirements as certified by a competent authority.
For nurses, in addition to the above criteria, there must be additional conditions such as: Being granted a certificate to practice medical examination and treatment; having at least 2 years of experience in nursing work (including a 9-month internship period to be granted a certificate to practice medical examination and treatment). Meeting these standards, workers will be trained for 12 months at a facility organized by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in coordination with the Japanese focal point.
Workers selected to go to Japan will work for 3-4 years. During that time, they will take a national exam in Japan. If they pass, they will have a national certificate, be licensed to practice and become official nurses or caregivers in Japan, and be allowed to work in Japan indefinitely. The income of each person in this field can reach 2,000-3,000 USD/month or more.
Mr. Le Van Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Overseas Labor Management, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs said: Up to now, the Department has received more than 50 applications from candidates. The applications are mostly correct but there are still errors such as incorrect subjects or health examination forms, practice certificates of some applications are missing, so we request to supplement. The application deadline is September 30 instead of September 15 as previously announced. The expected number of people to recruit is 150 and then Japan will select. After this workshop, we will organize interviews for workers, select to match the requirements and then select candidates, send them to training this year to take the Japanese language test in December next year".
According to Mr. Le Van Thanh, Vietnamese citizens who want to work as nurses or caregivers in Japan need to submit an application to the Department of Overseas Labor Management. The Department is the sole agency to receive applications and implement the program together with the Japanese agency. Labor export companies or any individuals are not licensed to implement this program./.
