Multiplying the beauty of the Great Unity Day
(Baonghean.vn) - "National Great Unity Day in Residential Areas" was initiated by the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in 2003. After 20 years of implementation, it has become a regular and widespread activity in residential areas throughout the province.
The National Great Unity Day has become a beautiful tradition of the nation on the occasion of the anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front every year. This year's festival was implemented by localities with many exciting and creative activities, continuing to promote the great unity of the nation and promote development.
PROMOTE, SPREAD
TRADITIONAL BEAUTY OF ETHNICITY
Entering November 2023, cadres in Hamlet 22, Nghi Phu Commune, Vinh City are busier with preparations for the "National Great Unity Day" in the residential area. Comrade Nguyen Thi Mo - Party Cell Secretary, Head of the Front Work Committee of Hamlet 22 said: The spirit of preparing for the festival has demonstrated the spirit of solidarity; from composing the song "Happy Opening Day" is the crystallization of the intelligence of cadres and people participating together; to the folk dance performance "Song of Solidarity" practiced by women, mothers, and sisters regardless of age or job; and then mobilizing facilities and equipment to serve the festival, which is supported by all classes of people. This year, 6/6 residential groups will also organize a "Solidarity Meal" with many activities, creating opportunities for all people in the neighborhood to get closer, understand each other better, contributing to strengthening the village spirit and the neighborhood spirit of "helping each other in times of need".

In Nam Son village, Mon Son commune, Con Cuong district, this year's Great Solidarity Festival was chosen by the district as a focal point, so it was held in early November. Comrade Quang Thi Van - Party Cell Secretary, Head of the Village Front Work Committee shared: In the past time, cadres and people in Nam Son village have united to eliminate backward customs, build a new cultural lifestyle in weddings, funerals, festivals; join hands to build new rural areas... Just from the beginning of 2023 up to now, people have donated land, trees, assets and contributed working days and money to expand 4 intra-village traffic routes; supported the construction of a memorial house for martyrs of the commune, built landslide roads in the commune; contributed money and labor to build houses for the poor, supported cases of difficulty, illness or accidents, and families with deceased relatives.
Currently, Nam Son village has a total of 182 households, with 823 people; of which, the rate of poor households is 23 households and near-poor households is 61 households. Therefore, at the festival, the village continues to mobilize people to unite and compete in transforming the structure of crops and livestock, applying scientific and technical advances in production, increasing people's income; associated with building a developed residential area.

The entire Mon Son commune (Con Cuong) has 14 villages, currently the villages are focusing on mobilizing people to clean up the environment, hang flags and slogans; and enthusiastically practicing performing arts to prepare for the National Great Unity Day. “The organization of the National Great Unity Day every year has created opportunities and conditions for the Thai, Dan Lai, and Kinh ethnic groups to gather and connect with each other through football and volleyball activities, organizing cultural activities and folk games such as tug of war, stick pushing, gong beating, bamboo dancing, lam vong dancing, drinking rice wine... These activities contribute to preserving, promoting, and spreading the cultural values of ethnic minorities; enhancing spiritual enjoyment for the people” - Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Mon Son commune, Luong Minh Duc shared.
The festival also contributes to encouraging and motivating people to continue to strive to build a prosperous life for their families and beautify their villages and homeland.

The National Great Unity Day in residential areas was initiated by the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in 2003. After 20 years of implementation, it has become a regular and widespread activity in residential areas throughout the province. This is an activity of practical social significance; a forum that widely gathers people from all walks of life; builds and fosters the "blood" relationship between the Party, the government and the people; brings cadres closer to the people, connects with the people, and understands the people better.
This is also a forum to convey the idea of great national solidarity to all classes of people, to arouse the strength, consensus and joint efforts of each residential area and each family in implementing patriotic emulation movements and major campaigns launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front. Typical examples are the movements and campaigns "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas"; "Day for the Poor"; "All people protect national security"; "All people participate in protecting the environment" ...

Up to now, the whole province has 309/411 communes meeting new rural standards (reaching 75.18%); 53 communes meeting advanced new rural standards; 6 communes meeting model new rural standards. The whole province has 9 district-level units completing their tasks and being recognized as meeting new rural standards.
ENHANCE THE FESTIVAL
This year's Great Unity Day is being implemented by localities in conjunction with the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2023) and the 20th anniversary of the Great Unity Day; especially in conjunction with launching emulation to welcome the Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels, term 2024 - 2029. Therefore, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province are all concerned with building a plan to organize the festival with the desire to create a highlight and strongly spread the strength of the great unity of the whole nation.

The new feature in organizing this year's festival in Hoang Mai town, according to the Chairman of the town's Fatherland Front Committee - Ho Thi Hang, is that in 10/10 wards and communes, "Zero-dong stalls" (including essential food items such as cooking oil, fish sauce, fish, dried shrimp, sugar, MSG, etc.) will be built to support the poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged people in residential areas. At the same time, localities are encouraged to display and introduce local agricultural products, handicrafts, and OCOP products to promote and serve the consumption needs of people, especially those who are far from home and return to participate in the festival.
In Do Luong district, in addition to organizing the National Great Unity Day in residential areas throughout the district, according to the sharing of the Chairman of the District Fatherland Front Committee Vuong Thi Quy: With the spirit of "leaving no one behind" in the great festival of the whole nation, the District Fatherland Front Committee will organize a "Great Unity Meal" for children being cared for and raised at the Nghe An Social Work Center, those being cared for at the Provincial Protection Center and patients being treated at the Do Luong District General Hospital.
Along with that, mobilizing resources from philanthropists, children living far from home, and using the "For the Poor" Fund to organize activities to visit and give gifts to poor households, those in difficult circumstances, families with meritorious services, veteran revolutionary cadres; organizing the giving of support money, starting construction, handing over Great Unity houses to the poor, families with housing difficulties...

Quynh Luu district organizes a festival with the launch and registration of emulation with specific works and tasks in each residential area, each commune and town. Including, building houses, supporting livelihood models for the poor and civil works, such as building model roads, Great Unity flag roads; green tree roads, building model roads; organizing competitions to learn about the Vietnam Fatherland Front associated with cultural, artistic and sports activities...
At the provincial level, for the first time, Nghe An organizes the Solidarity Day Program, scheduled for 3 days from November 10 to 12, 2023 in Vinh city with many special activities. Specifically, including a cultural and artistic performance program of street festivals with the theme "Colors of Nghe An ethnic cultures"; the program "Solidarity Night"; organizingphoto exhibition“Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Nghe An Cultural Heritage”; booth displaying and introducing typical products of each region and locality.

This activity will create a highlight, contribute to promoting and spreading the spirit of solidarity, encouraging the strong rise of all classes of people, creating a combined strength to successfully implement the resolutions of Party congresses at all levels, term 2020-2025 and Resolution No. 39 of the Politburo on building and developing Nghe An province to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
