Texting while driving: Danger increases 23 times!

According to another study by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), texting while driving increases the risk of a traffic accident by 23 times. It is also the leading cause of distraction - the cause of 65% of accidents.
Responding to the call of the United Nations Secretary General, the Car Care Day 2015 program sent the message "No texting while driving" to the community of car users and society, with the desire to contribute to raising drivers' awareness when participating in traffic, minimizing accidents.
Mr. Tran Hong Ninh, Director of the Auto Hospital, shared: “At Car Care Day 2014, when asked if they often texted while driving, more than 31% of participating customers admitted that they often did. Texting while driving is against the nature of traffic safety, threatening the lives of themselves and those around them.”

The program also calls on families with minors to build awareness of “No Texting While Driving” for this age group, as parents’ habits can also influence their children’s behavior. According to Opera, smartphone use in the 4P countries is mostly young people, with the average age of use being under 24, of which in Vietnam, 50% of users are 19 years old or younger.
