Quickly affirm Hoang Mai as the northern growth pole of the province

On April 3, 2013, the Government issued Resolution No. 47/NQ-CP on adjusting the administrative boundaries of Quynh Luu district to establish Hoang Mai town with a natural area of ​​169.75 km2, a population of 105.8 thousand people, with 10 administrative units including 5 wards: Quynh Thien, Quynh Di, Quynh Phuong, Quynh Xuan, Mai Hung and 5 communes: Quynh Vinh, Quynh Loc, Quynh Lap, Quynh Lien, Quynh Trang.

On June 29, 2013, the Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the Government's Resolution and launch Hoang Mai town. The town officially came into operation on July 1, 2013.

When it was first established, Hoang Mai faced many difficulties, the economic growth rate reached 7.85%, the agricultural production value in the economic structure accounted for a high proportion, the average income per capita only reached 32.52 million VND.

After 5 years of establishment, Hoang Mai town has achieved important achievements in many fields. In 2017, the growth rate reached 26.36%. The economic structure continues to shift in the right direction with the proportion of industry and services accounting for the majority.

In 2017, industry - basic construction accounted for 59.42%, services 20.12%, agriculture only accounted for 24.36%. Investment attraction achieved many positive results with many large projects coming into operation. The poverty rate was only 3%.

Urban management, beautification, and new rural construction continue to achieve many results. Up to now, Hoang Mai has completed 36/58 criteria for a type III urban area, 2/5 communes have reached the new rural finish line, and the remaining communes have achieved 11-14 criteria.

Speaking at the seminar, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong congratulated the results that Hoang Mai town has achieved in the past 5 years, especially acknowledging the town's involvement in leading and directing economic and social development, ensuring national defense and security.

In particular, emphasizing the sharing, agreement, support and encouragement of the people to achieve the results in the past 5 years, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong noted that Hoang Mai town must create absolute consensus among the people, with high unity between the Party Committee, government, political system and people of wards and communes in the coming time.

This is an extremely important issue because although many basic difficulties have been overcome in the past 5 years, there are still many difficulties and concerns in the next stage that the Party Committee, government and people of the town need to solve.

The town's political system must perform its functions and tasks better to avoid disappointing the people, first of all, demonstrating the extremely important leadership role of the Party Committee; the role of directing and implementing specific tasks in a comprehensive manner of the Town People's Committee and agencies, departments and branches; and playing a good role as a bridge between mass organizations in the coming time.

At the same time, the town must promote the great value of Hoang Mai land, a place of "spiritual land and talented people", a land of people with a tradition of dynamism, creativity, and hard work.
"Comrades, leaders to make Hoang townMai has become a very prominent locality in terms of dynamism and creativity, especially in economic business. How can we create a movement for Hoang Mai people to start innovative businesses?" - Comrade Nguyen Van Thong expressed.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee hopes that Hoang Mai will quickly affirm in practice that it is indeed a very important northern growth pole for Nghe An province and contribute to the comprehensive implementation of the goals set out in Resolution 26 of the Politburo on the direction and tasks for Nghe An province's development by 2020.

On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Thanh Dien presented the Certificate of Merit of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman to the people and officials of Hoang Mai town.

Hoang Mai town also honored 10 outstanding collectives and 15 individuals in various fields.
