Japan arrests man who threatened to bomb US embassy
According to Kyodo, Japanese police on March 19 arrested a 52-year-old man living in Okinawa on suspicion of making bomb threats to the US Embassy in Tokyo.
Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department said the suspect, Mitsuyoshi Kamiya, admitted to making three such phone calls, threatening to bomb the US embassy and a military base in Okinawa, Japan's southernmost prefecture, between March 5 and 14.

Previously, on March 18, US Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy and other diplomatic officials of this country received anonymous phone calls threatening their lives.
US State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said "The US government takes these threats very seriously" and affirmed that it will coordinate with Japanese authorities to ensure all necessary measures./.
