According to Mr. Takeshi Miyata - representative of the Association of Enterprises, elevator manufacturing enterprises have decided to re-examine regulations on safety assurance and risk prevention in elevators. Mr. Takeshi said that currently, mobile toilets placed in elevators have appeared on the market and are installed in some buildings. Mr. Takeshi hopes that this model will be widely replicated in the future.

Japan is a country that is often affected by natural disasters, so they are always prepared for any response. Therefore, portable toilet models are also designed in a variety of ways to meet the essential needs of people in emergency situations such as earthquakes or other disasters.

And putting toilets in elevators isn't exactly a crazy idea, especially when the Japanese Ministry of Construction reported that about 19,000 elevators in Tokyo were out of service, trapping passengers in the powerful earthquake on May 30. Previously, in a simulation of a powerful earthquake that devastated Tokyo, the Japanese government estimated that about 17,000 people could be trapped in elevators. It is known that Japan has about 700,000 elevators, of which more than 150,000 are installed in Tokyo alone.
