According to NHK on the evening of February 23, Japan is considering allowing weapons exports to countries along sea routes to ensure the safety of transport ships.

The Japanese government is reviewing its total ban on arms exports and is developing a new principle. Government officials are considering plans to allow arms exports with strict inspections and controls. They want to allow exports for joint development of weapons with other countries and to promote international cooperation. So far, the government has approved exceptions.
