Japan: Successfully tested a train running at 603 km/h
(Baonghean) - A spokesman for the Japanese railway company said that the train's speed of 603 km/h was maintained for 10.8 seconds when it passed through a tunnel. This person also proudly said that this is the first train in the world to reach the above speed. It is known that this experiment was conducted on a special route stretching 42.8 km in Yamanashi, located in the center of the land of the sun.

The above experiment was developed from the “Maglev super-speed train” project that has been going on for many years. Some time ago, the Maglev train set a record when it reached a speed of 590 km/h, which is equivalent to a speed of 10 km/minute or 170 m/s.
The Central Japan Railway Company is planning to build a new line dedicated to this type of train. According to the plan, the train will be in operation in 2027, connecting Tokyo and Nagoya. Researchers calculate that the train will have to travel at 500 km/h to complete the 286 km distance in 40 minutes.
With an initial investment of up to 42.5 billion euros, the Japanese railway company plans to build a railway line between Shinagawa station in Tokyo and the industrial city of Nagoya, home to the giant carmaker Toyota. The line will then be extended to Osaka, 153 kilometers away.
If completed on schedule, this railway line will shorten the travel time between the two cities from more than 2 hours to just 1 hour and 7 minutes by 2045. According to preliminary estimates, the total cost of the entire project is up to nearly 7 billion euros.
