Found more than 8 million VND and returned it to the owner

At 6:30 p.m. on November 10, after dinner, Hung went to do laundry. As soon as he entered the bathroom, Hung picked up a wallet on the wall of the well, containing 8,400,000 VND and many important personal documents in the name of Cao Van Tuat, from Hung Nguyen Town, Hung Nguyen District, Nghe An.

At that moment, Hung thought that the wallet might belong to a worker who was building a barracks for the unit. Hung ran into the workers' resting place to look for the person who lost it, but the workers were having dinner so he couldn't find them. Hung immediately returned to report to the company commander. The company commander then handed the wallet over to the Battalion to announce it over the internal radio system.

At 7:30 p.m. the same day, Mr. Cao Van Tuat went to see the unit commander and asked to get his wallet back.

Mr. Cao Van Tuat received his wallet back from Private Tran Van Hung.

Private Tran Van Hung shared: “If it’s not your money, you shouldn’t take it. There was a receipt for buying construction materials in the wallet, so I thought it belonged to a construction worker. My parents are farmers, but during their free time, they also work as construction workers. It’s hard for workers to earn money to support their wives and children, so at that time, I just wanted to find the person who lost it and return it.”

Through investigation, it is known that Private Tran Van Hung is from Thieu Quang commune, Thieu Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province. Born in 1996, Hung enlisted in the army in February 2016.

After receiving the wallet back, Mr. Cao Van Tuat could not hide his emotion: “I am very happy, uncle. The soldiers are so good. I did not think I would find the wallet again. Thank you very much, officers and soldiers. This is the money I just borrowed to prepare to buy materials and food for the workers. If I cannot find the wallet, I do not know where to get the money to make up for it.”
