(Baonghean.vn) -With honesty and a spirit of serving the people, a volunteer soldier of Nghe An Province Police, after picking up a citizen's wallet, sought out the person who lost the property to return it.

At around 5:00 p.m. on March 29, after finishing his shift at Ho Chi Minh Square on his way back to his unit, Corporal Vo Dinh Phuong (born in 1991), a volunteer soldier of the Security and Mobile Police Department, picked up a leather wallet containing a driver's license in the name of Nguyen Nhu Son and more than 11 million VND. Corporal Vo Dinh Phuong reported the incident to the unit commander and brought the wallet and all the documents and assets inside to the Truong Thi Ward Police Station, Vinh City to hand over, asking them to find and return the property to the owner.

Immediately after receiving the lost property, Truong Thi Ward Police followed the address on the wallet owner's identification card and contacted Mr. Nguyen Nhu Son, a doctor at Son Duong District General Hospital, Tuyen Quang Province.

After checking, comparing and verifying that Mr. Son was the owner of the wallet, the police completed the return procedure. Receiving his property back, Mr. Nguyen Nhu Son was very emotional. He said that he went to Nghe An to visit relatives, on the way he stopped by Quan Lau market to buy fruit. When he returned home, he could not find the wallet. Thinking that it was lost and could not be found, fortunately, an Nghe An police officer picked up the wallet and called to report that he had come to receive the property.

It is known that Corporal Vo Dinh Phuong from Quy Chau town, Quy Chau mountainous district (Nghe An) has a family facing many difficulties. Phuong joined the police service and was assigned to the task of protecting the target of the Ho Chi Minh Square and monument since 2011. And not only Corporal Phuong, in the past year, many soldiers in the unit of the Protection and Mobile Police Department of Nghe An Public Security picked up lost items and returned them to the owner with a total amount of over 100 million VND.

Speaking to reporters, Corporal Vo Dinh Phuong said: This is a very normal thing that any police officer would do. This money is the sweat and effort of its owner. Therefore, the first thing I thought of when I found the wallet was to find a way to return it to the person who lost it.

Although the amount of money is not large, the action of Corporal Vo Dinh Phuong has further beautified the image of the People's Police soldier in studying and practicing the 6 teachings of Uncle Ho.
