Many surprises in the 2015 Golden Apricot Award voting round

At the end of the 21st Golden Apricot Award nomination round - 2015 organized by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, hundreds of artists were nominated by readers. Recently, the Organizing Committee has decided on the number of categories and the list of artists, works, and television programs to be included in the voting round, including: 13 categories, 49 artists, 7 works, and 4 television programs.

This year, the two categories that the organizers decided to put aside when entering the voting round are Song and Vocal Group. In fact, according to experts, in 2015 there were no truly outstanding newly composed songs. The songs that the public nominated for this year's season were all old songs, not suitable for the rules of the award. Vocal Groups were also assessed by experts as having no new or outstanding activities.

In addition to removing the above 2 categories, in some categories for the voting round, the Organizing Committee only selected 3 or 4 candidates because the difference in the number of votes of the remaining candidates compared to the selected candidates was too large. Accordingly, the category of Female Pop Singer only had 4 candidates: Ho Ngoc Ha, Khoi My, Dong Nhi, My Tam; the category of Singer of Traditional Revolutionary Music also only had 4 candidates; Television Program still had the top 4, especially the category of Film - Television only selected the top 3. In particular, the category of Male Pop Singer still had all 5 faces, namely Dam Vinh Hung, Hoai Lam, Noo Phuoc Thinh, Hoang Ton and Son Tung M-TP.

The Organizing Committee separated the category of Singer of Traditional Revolutionary Folk Music in the nomination round into two separate categories: Singer of Folk Music and Singer of Traditional Revolutionary Music to include in the voting round.

There are 3 categories in this round of voting with the names of artists Hoai Linh and Truong Giang. Hoai Lam is a new face of Mai Vang this year but his name is in 2 categories: Male pop singer and Singer of folk music.

In particular, the 21st Golden Apricot Awards voting round - 2015 saw the appearance of many new faces, who had never been nominated in the top 5 of the Golden Apricot Awards before. In the category of female pop singer and MC, there was Khoi My; male pop singers were Hoai Lam, Hoang Ton, Son Tung M-TP; singer of traditional revolutionary music was Vu Thang Loi; male stage actor was Minh Beo. In the category of male and female movie and television actors, there were Nha Phuong, Luong The Thanh, Le Phuong, Ngan Khanh, Chi Pu.
