Due to the impact of the storm circulation combined with high tides, 6 hamlets in Hung Nguyen were flooded and completely isolated in the communes of Hung Nhan, Hung Loi and Hung Chau. By 7:00 a.m. on September 16, all 278 households that were evacuated since noon yesterday, September 14, had returned home after the water receded.
The entire district suffered 600 crops of all kinds; 40 hectares of summer-autumn rice that were ready for harvest were damaged by 30-70%; 50 hectares of vegetables were damaged by over 70% (including 10 hectares of green beans); 30 hectares of corn were damaged by over 70%, of which the summer-autumn corn areas in Hung Nhan, Hung Long, Hung My, and Hung Long communes had begun to flower, and the early winter corn areas in Hung Xa had grown to 5-7 leaves and were considered a complete loss. In addition, there were damages to houses, schools, fish, rice, and livestock. The total estimated damage was nearly 15 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thuong, head of hamlet 1A, Hung Linh commune, shared: The whole hamlet has nearly 7 hectares of corn on alluvial land, growing waxy corn for fresh corn as a commodity and corn stalks to sell as feed for dairy cows. After a month of planting and caring, if all goes well, in just 20 days the waxy corn will be ready to be harvested, and at the end of September the biomass corn will also be harvested. "One sao of waxy corn costs more than 800,000 VND, not including labor. If successful, we can earn 2.5 million VND/sao; biomass corn is sold for 800,000 VND/ton, but now we are left empty-handed."

With summer-autumn rice, harvest in areas that can still be salvaged. Summer-autumn corn has no seeds yet, so focus on rebuilding and taking care of areas with light damage. In areas that cannot be repaired, uproot the crops, use them as animal feed, and prepare the land for the next crop.
