Many Nghe An businesses urgently recruit workers
Currently, in the time of boosting production and business to meet the deadline for year-end orders, many businesses are urgently recruiting workers. The demand is high but recruitment is facing many difficulties.
Difficult to recruit enough demand
Minh Anh Garment Company has just opened a new factory in Con Cuong town, with a scale of 200 billion VND, requiring 3,000 workers. Although it has just started operating, the company has recruited more than 800 workers from Con Cuong and neighboring localities in the Western Nghe An region.
However, with the number of orders waiting to be shipped, the factory is urgently recruiting 600 more workers. Although the recruitment has been posted for 2 months now, the factory has only recruited less than 100 workers. Mr. Tran Trong Nghia - Factory Manager said: "Although we are trying to recruit local workers, the current labor source in the area is not enough, we are trying to attract workers from far away, but this number is still modest".
In the province, the number of garment factories in need of labor is very large, typically garment factories in Dien Chau district, such as Trong Phuc Garment Company Limited is urgently recruiting 200 workers for the following positions: pattern makers, pattern cutters; cutters; advertising staff; sewing workers, ironers. The special thing is that for sewing workers and ironers, the company will provide free training during the recruitment period. The company's human resources representative said: This recruitment, we prioritize positions with experience in the garment industry, with quite attractive salaries from 10 - 12 million VND, however, the number of workers applying is extremely modest.
A representative of Trong Phuc Garment Company Limited also added: "After the crisis due to the economic recession, which led to the suspension of orders, forcing us to cut staff, we are now receiving many orders from Europe and need a lot of manpower to complete the volume of goods from now until the end of 2024."

Not only the garment industry is seriously lacking in workers, but other industries such as transportation, freight transport, electronic components, technical graphics, etc. are also in great need of workers in the last months of the year. At the Construction Glass Production and Trading Company in VSIP Industrial Park, it is urgently recruiting 100 positions for the following jobs: Receiving orders (including technical drawings); entering order confirmation and redrawing orders for customers; ... For these positions, the company's Board of Directors requires proficiency in technical drawing software; priority is given to proficiency in Autocad; graduated from intermediate level specialized in mechanics, construction ... However, despite posting recruitment on social networking sites and the portal of the Provincial Employment Service Center for the past 3 months, the company has only received a few applications.

According to the report of the Provincial Employment Service Center, in the past 9 months, 508 enterprises needed to recruit workers. With the number of recruitment up to 63,939 job positions, in September alone, 5,170 workers were needed. The number of workers without degrees or certificates was 57,661 workers. The service industry needed 1,131 people, the garment industry needed 27,565; other industries needed 35,357 workers.

Mr. Tran Huu Thuong - Deputy Director of the Provincial Employment Service Center said: Since August and September until now, businesses haveThe demand for labor recruitment has increased more than before. The reason is that the end of the year often has many big holidays, plus businesses complete orders, plan their operations and other arising issues, so they have a high demand for recruiting workers.
Recently, at the 2024 Youth Job Fair organized by the International Migration Delegation in coordination with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union at the Vietnam-Germany College, businesses participated in recruiting at 30 booths, with more than 3,500 job positions. Of which, there are 500 job positions, study abroad and vocational training positions requiring university and college degrees; nearly 2,500 job positions for unskilled workers.
Over 500 recruitment targets for positions such as technology and safety engineer, automation line engineer, construction engineer. For general labor, there are industries including: textile and garment workers; technical workers; sales staff; business specialists; mechanics; construction workers; electricians; telecommunications services, tourism services, etc.
Industries with high employment trends
Explaining the cause of the labor shortage, Mr. Tran Phi Hung - Head of the Department of Employment - Labor Safety, Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that through a survey of the labor recruitment situation of more than 500 enterprises, it was shown that some enterprises had difficulty recruiting workers, the main reason being that supply and demand have not met.

Specifically, there are cases where businesses pay low wages, workers are not satisfied; there are businesses that cannot recruit because the skills of the workers do not meet the requirements... For many businesses, firing old employees and recruiting new ones takes place all year round. There are times when the demand for recruitment increases sharply, such as at the end of the year, when there are many orders... At that time, they need to recruit a large number of workers in a short time, which will cause temporary difficulties in recruitment.
Due to the difficulty in finding labor, in addition to participating in job fairs, businesses have to find candidates on Zalo, Facebook, and human resource supply companies...
“In the fourth quarter, employees who have stabilized their positions at the company have no intention of changing jobs. If employees look for new jobs, it is only in cases of force majeure, the working environment is not really suitable or the company stops operating. And according to the law of the labor market, when a business stops operating, the labor force will rotate to another company to apply. However, according to the center's survey, at the end of the year, almost no service businesses with a large workforce declared dissolution, so the labor shortage is understandable.”
Mr. Tran Huu Thuong - Deputy Director of Provincial Employment Service Center
The Provincial Employment Service Center forecasts that by the end of 2024, the labor market will focus on recruiting in key industrial and service sectors. The sector with a high recruitment trend is services and trade, with a system of supermarkets, restaurants, shopping malls, and delivery companies that need a lot of workers to serve customer orders. Next, the processing and manufacturing, garment, and information technology sectors will tend to recruit a lot of workers.
“In the coming time, in addition to organizing daily job fairs, the Provincial Employment Service Center will coordinate with units to organize special sessions and mobile job fairs to meet the labor recruitment needs of businesses,” said Mr. Thuong.
