Many unique activities at the Nguyen Xi Temple Festival in 2026
On the morning of March 18th (the 30th day of the first lunar month), the 2026 Nguyen Xi Temple Festival took place in Hop Thang hamlet, Dong Loc commune.
Attending the event were Comrade Duong Dinh Chinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dong Loc commune; representatives from departments, agencies, wards, communes, and related units; descendants of the Nguyen Dinh family; and a large number of tourists.
Grand Tutor, Duke of Cương QuốcNguyen XiHe was an outstanding founding father of the Later Le Dynasty, a hero associated with the Lam Son Uprising and the prosperity of the Dai Viet nation, and the progenitor of the Nguyen Dinh clan.
The Nguyen Xi Temple Festival has long been a traditional cultural event of Dong Loc village, of the Nguyen Dinh family, and also a sacred meeting place for locals and tourists from near and far.
Speaking at the festival, a representative of the Dong Loc commune leadership emphasized: The Nguyen Xi Temple Festival is a community cultural activity deeply rooted in the traditional identity of Dong Loc homeland. Over time,festivalIt has become a place that preserves and continues the cultural heritage of our ancestors, a place where historical, spiritual, and community-oriented values converge.
The solemn rituals and traditional cultural activities in the festival not only demonstrate reverence for ancestors but also contribute to educating present and future generations about patriotism, national pride, and the responsibility to preserve and promote the beautiful cultural values of their homeland.
At the event, delegates performed the drum-beating ceremony to officially open the festival and offered incense in commemoration of Grand Tutor and Duke Nguyen Xi.
Also this morning, delegates and local people joined in cheering on the men's volleyball final. The men's volleyball tournament, part of the festival, opened on March 16th with the participation of the communes of Dong Loc, Nghi Loc, Hai Loc, Trung Loc, and the North Central Mobile Police Regiment.

Over the two days of March 16th and 17th, the Nguyen Xi Temple Festival featured many special activities such as processions, ceremonies honoring the Nguyen family's ancestors, photo exhibitions, tug-of-war competitions, etc. The series of festival activities will conclude on March 19th (the 1st day of the 2nd lunar month).
Grand Tutor Cương Quốc Công Nguyễn Xí was born in the year Đinh Sửu (1397) and died on October 30th, Ất Dậu (1465), at the age of 69. For 37 consecutive years, he held the position of a great meritorious official, faithfully serving four emperors: Lê Thái Tổ, Lê Thái Tông, Lê Nhân Tông, and Lê Thánh Tông. In the glorious flow of national history, the journey of Grand Tutor Cương Quốc Công Nguyễn Xí is a brilliant testament to the spirit of the people of Nghe An in particular, and Vietnam in general, to absolute loyalty and outstanding talent. He also made significant contributions to attracting settlers, establishing villages, reclaiming land, and developing settlements.
