Many activities towards World Environment Day June 5

(Baonghean.vn) -Practically responding to World Environment Day 2013, on the morning of June 2, all localities across the province mobilized people from all walks of life to clean up the environment, collect garbage, dredge ponds, canals, etc.

Hundreds of tons of garbage were collected and treated, contributing to cleaner roads, street corners, village banks, and rice fields. Localities also actively promoted propaganda. According to information from the provincial Department of Environmental Protection, nearly 500 banners, slogans, and flags were hung on main roads, central areas in districts, and especially in Vinh city and Cua Lo town.

In addition, over 600 radio discs with the message of World Environment Day 2013 “Think about the environment before consuming food” were sent to 100% of communes, wards, and towns; cultural centers; provincial and district radio stations to propagate to raise awareness and change food consumption habits to protect the environment.
