Many activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army
(Baonghean) - Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has just issued Plan No. 569/KH–UBND dated October 25, 2014 on organizing activities towards the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2014) and the 25th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - 2014).
Purpose: To widely propagate and educate all classes of people and armed forces, especially the young generation, about the glorious 70-year historical journey of building, fighting and growing of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, thereby continuing to affirm the correct and wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh in determining the revolutionary path, building the People's Armed Forces and the Vietnam People's Army; summarizing, evaluating, recognizing and promoting the great achievements in 25 years of implementing the National Defense Day, building the national defense in the new period. Raising awareness, strengthening confidence, arousing pride, striving to promote the glorious tradition of the army, promoting the determination of cadres, soldiers and people of all walks of life towards the task of building a strong national defense, building a national defense posture associated with a solid people's security posture, building the army in general and the armed forces of Nghe An province to be revolutionary, disciplined, elite, gradually modern, meeting the requirements of the task of building and protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the new situation. Having practical, profound, economical and safe educational significance, avoiding ostentation and formality.
Accordingly, the province directs to focus on activities such as: strengthening propaganda and education on the glorious tradition during 70 years of building, fighting and growing of the heroic people's army, outstanding results in 25 years of implementing the National Defense Day. Organizing a provincial-level celebration ceremony at the Provincial Labor Culture House. Actively promoting gratitude activities such as giving houses of gratitude, offering incense and flowers at historical sites and martyrs' cemeteries; visiting and presenting gifts to the Center for Nursing Seriously Wounded Soldiers, the Center for Mental Health Nursing, families of wounded soldiers, relatives of martyrs, families of policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services to the revolution and outstanding veterans in the province, presenting gifts to military units stationed in the province; organizing meetings with retired military officers in the province according to decentralization; organizing participation in the Contest to learn about the 70-year tradition of the Vietnam People's Army launched by the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
