Many areas in Quy Hop and Thai Hoa were submerged in flood water.
As of September 30, many industrial parks, factories, and houses in Quy Hop commune and Thai Hoa ward were still submerged in water, causing heavy damage and seriously affecting production and business activities.
During the storm, the rain continued for a long time, causing many factories in the industrial parks of Thung Khuoc, Tho Son, Chau Quang and Chau Loc... to be submerged in water from 1.5 to 2 meters deep. Along with that, dozens of factories, warehouses, and workers' houses had their roofs blown off, their fences collapsed, many machinery systems, production line equipment, and materials were submerged in water, causing severe damage, and some power transformer stations were flooded and temporarily stopped supplying electricity.
The businesses that were heavily affected were: Thanh Cong Cooperative, Long Anh Private Enterprise, An Son Joint Stock Company, Phu Gia, Hop Thinh, Thanh Trung, Hop Vinh Companies... The damage has not yet been fully recorded. The storm also caused great damage to the environment and traffic infrastructure in industrial zones. In many places, workers temporarily stopped to clean up and overcome the consequences after the storm.
From the evening of September 29 to noon of September 30, in Thai Hoa ward, Tay Hieu and Dong Hieu commune (belonging to the old Thai Hoa town), many traffic routes, many residential areas on both sides of Hieu river and low-lying areas were deeply flooded, some places were completely isolated.
Currently, the water level of Hieu River is still rising. Some areas are deeply flooded such as: Forestry Processing Block 1,2,3; Tan Thang Block, Trung Cap Block, Lien Son Block in Thai Hoa Ward, Experimental Block area, Block 250 and blocks along the bank of Hieu River in Tay Hieu Ward and low-lying hamlets of Dong Hieu Commune are all deeply flooded, many houses are flooded up to the 2nd floor, people said that they have lived in the area for decades but have never witnessed the water level rising as high and fast as this time.
Currently, most areas in Thai Hoa ward, Tay Hieu and Dong Hieu commune have lost power due to fallen electric poles and trees. Many traffic routes in the central area such as: 5-way intersection, Khe Me bridge in Thai Hoa ward, Experimental block, embankment of Tay Hieu ward are flooded deeply, affecting traffic.
Faced with this reality, local authorities coordinated with military forces, police and functional forces to mobilize vehicles to stay close to the scene, promptly support, rescue and evacuate affected people to safety.
