People's Artist Hong Van is a famous person in the movement to spread Vi and Giam folk songs in the locality as well as in the surrounding areas. In recent years, every summer, she opens classes to recruit children from all regions toteach folk songsHer students can be children as young as 10 years old, but there are also those who are in their teens, coming to her class with a passion for folk songs and a desire to learn. People's Artist Nguyen Thi Hong Van shared: "I only want to open a class for about 10 students, but there are years when I register up to 20 students, so I have to divide the classes into many shifts. The best thing is that the students are all passionate and have a very high awareness. So even with a short time of only 10-15 sessions, they can grasp many folk songs, vi, and giam of Nghe An".

According to NNND Hong Van, to open a folk singing class, the teacher must have prestige, teaching experience and the ability to spread the singing and melodies in the community. More importantly, it is necessary to have a love for children and a spirit of teaching with passion. Because most of the young people that NNND Hong Van agrees to accept into the class are those who are talented and passionate about their hometown's folk songs. However, there are also many children who go because of the movement or because of the guidance of their parents and teachers. Coming to NNND Hong Van's class, the children have been reoriented, determining their talents or interests. There are many children who did not like it before, but after a few sessions, they became fascinated and grasped it very quickly.

Students who come to "Mrs. Van's class" are completely free, so many students, even though they are poor and in difficult circumstances, can still access and satisfy their love of folk songs. Nguyen Phuong Thuy, from Cau Giat (Quynh Luu), who was a student of Ms. Van, shared: I am also a performer in the class, but the music genre I choose is different. I came to Ms. Van's class at first because my friends invited me to join for fun, so when I first approached folk songs, I didn't get involved. But after just a few sessions, I was able to sing many vi melodies, which made her very happy and focused on training me. What I admire most about her is that she teaches us with all her passion, and she always takes out whatever delicious things she has in the house to treat us after each practice session.

In addition to People's Artist Hong Van, Meritorious Artist Thu Thuy in Kim Lien Commune (Nam Dan) also persistently opened many folk song teaching classes. She is a teacher at Kim Lien Secondary School, but her love for folk songs has been deeply rooted in her since she was a child. When she became an artist, with her passion, she taught many generations of students her love for Vi and Giam melodies. Ms. Thuy said: Because I am a teacher, I understand quite well which students in my area have talent, from there I approach, get close to and attract them to my folk song classes. From that teaching environment, many students have now achieved many encouraging results, nurturing a great passion to become singers in the near future, like Nguyen Cong Minh, who won first prize in many folk song festivals in the province.

A place to nurture young talents

Surely many people still remember singer Ha Quynh Nhu, who was once a favorite student of People's Artist Hong Luu. Quynh Nhu lives in the rice fields of Yen Thanh, but was guided by Ms. Luu from the first notes of folk songs. Knowing Ha Quynh Nhu through a folk song singing contest in schools throughout the province, seeing her rare voice, as if it was tailor-made for folk songs, People's Artist Hong Luu wholeheartedly taught her, took her home to eat and sleep with her to teach her to sing many difficult ancient folk songs. From that first class, Quynh Nhu gradually conquered many large and small stages in and outside the province, she won many championships in famous competitions of the Television Station. In an interview, Ha Quynh Nhu mentioned her first teacher, the person who had the deepest influence on her: "Ms. Luu was also the one who gave me a deep understanding of the beauty, the subtlety of Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs". People's Artist Hong Luu is also the one who skillfully trained many other famous child folk singers in both Nghe An and Ha Tinh.

Mr. Ngan has taught the students participating in the class all the ancient folk songs as well as how to sing developed folk songs. Each course only lasts about 1 month, but the students have been able to grasp all the ancient melodies and famous songs developed from folk songs. After 3 training courses, many students of cultural officer Nguyen Thanh Ngan have made remarkable progress in their understanding and singing of folk songs. In particular, in this batch of students, Mr. Ngan has discovered many promising faces who will contribute to the traditional art stage of the province in the future. Along with spreading Vi and Giam folk songs in the community, discovering and nurturing young folk talents is always focused on by the staff and artists of the Provincial Traditional Arts Center. At the center, not only do many artists participate in teaching classes organized by the province, but artists such as Meritorious Artist Minh Thanh,... have organized many classes for young people who love folk songs. In these community classes, the artists have discovered many young talents early on and oriented them towards their future artistic paths.

People's Artist Minh Tue - Provincial Traditional Arts Center said: "The teaching of Vi and Giam folk songs are the first classes to discover, nurture and nurture young talents for the province's traditional theater.
