Many outstanding international films at HANIFF Film Festival
More than 200 films from nearly 40 countries and territories have registered to participate in this Hanoi International Film Festival.
The second Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF) taking place in Hanoi from November 25-29 will be much larger in scale than the first film festival. In particular, many new and unique international films will be screened at this festival.

To date, more than 200 films from nearly 40 countries and territories have registered to participate in the programs of this Hanoi International Film Festival. Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan, Director of the Department of Cinema and Head of the HANIFF Organizing Committee, said that the number of international films registered by countries is increasing every day. These films will have to go through 3 rigorous selection rounds to gain the right to participate in the festival. The feature film program will have about 9-11 feature films produced by countries in the Asia-Pacific region, with the condition that the films have never competed at film festivals. The film screening program will be divided into many film clusters, each with its own unique features, divided by themes. In particular, the film cluster World Cinema Today - Panorama will have a large film cluster of about 20 top works of the world in recent times.
Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan said: “The most popular films are the outstanding films of the world, that is, the outstanding films about art in recent times. Sometimes I never dreamed that I could see such films right away. For example, the film that won the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival, Amour - Love Story by an Austrian director, will also be shown. This film is so new and some other top French films that will be shown after December have also agreed to be shown this time. British films like We have to Talk to Kevin will also be shown.”
In addition to the excellent Asian documentaries, Japanese animations, and top French films, this year there will also be a Korean Cinema Spotlight program with 12 new and excellent Korean films. This program will have the participation of a number of Korean stars.
