Research on plant varieties at the North Central Agricultural Science and Technology Institute.

In 2014, the North Central Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology was assigned to preside over the implementation of 3 ministerial-level projects, 2 projects under the variety program, 1 pilot production project managed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, 3 provincial-level projects, and to coordinate 12 research tasks with a number of localities.

The Institute's scientific research topics aim to develop plant varieties suitable for each region, contributing to the shift in crop structure, increasing productivity and economic efficiency for localities. Comrade Le Van Vinh - Deputy Director of the Institute said: "The viewpoint of the Party Committee and the Institute's leadership is to create conditions for cadres to participate in scientific research. The Party Committee has directly developed plans, proposed scientific research tasks and transferred scientific and technical advances in the North Central region in line with practical needs. On the other hand, the Institute is interested in training a team of good scientists and technicians who have a good understanding of reality and are able to solve problems required by practical production".

For the Nghi Loc State Reserve Department Party Cell, under the Nghe Tinh State Reserve Department Party Cell, the application of topics and initiatives in effective goods preservation has always been of interest to the Party Committee and professional bodies. In 2012, the Nghi Loc State Reserve Department imported bagged rice for pilot storage under "low pressure" conditions. The work of checking the quality of imported rice is extremely difficult, laborious and costly in terms of time and cost, which has somewhat affected the progress of warehousing. Based on that reality, the Party Cell and the Department's Board of Directors have researched and changed the method of management and inspection to determine the quality of rice so that it is beneficial to both parties and avoids unnecessary waste. The Department has an initiative "Managing the inspection and determination of the quality of bagged rice imported for storage under "low pressure" conditions". This initiative has been applied to check the quality when customers bring rice to the warehouse, reducing costs and time for quality inspection, avoiding inconvenience for both parties. Thanks to that, the Department can import rice with good quality indicators, speeding up the warehouse import process from 140 to 170 tons per day.

In addition, the Department has applied the initiative of "Creating a layer of rice to preserve rice in "low pressure" conditions by stacking rice bags together", saving the State nearly 59 million VND. During the process of preserving rice, the Department has the initiative of using the method of lining with PVC film to help easily check the quality indicators of stored goods, without the wall affecting the film. When exporting from the warehouse or changing technology, there is no need to dismantle the warehouse wall like the old warehouse system before. Comrade Nguyen Van Tuan - Party Cell Secretary, Branch Director, Nghi Loc State Reserve Department said: “The leading cadre must be both creative and exemplary. The Party Cell and I always innovate in thinking and working methods. The leaders and staff strictly implement and apply the procedures and regulations for preserving state reserve goods, so that there are no moldy, hot or insect-damaged goods, no loss or damage, and absolutely safe preservation of goods, materials and assets”.
