Many major obstacles in deploying 5G network
The next generation of cutting-edge technology may bring many new benefits, but it may not be for everyone.
5G is expected to make science fiction a reality. Smart living in connected homes, self-driving cars, remote control of refrigerators, and even patients being operated on by doctors in other places will no longer be a fantasy.
In addition, 5G also allows users to upload Ultra HD quality videos at high speeds. This technology is also praised as the premise for the fourth industrial revolution when it brings people perfect conveniences. But what about those who do not have access to 5G?
With the expected results, in just a few years this technology will truly bring a breakthrough to the convenience of human life. However, will the speed of coverage to users be truly even when currently, many countries are still trying to access 4G technology?

“5G has huge potential, but in the markets we work in, the opportunity for user adoption is very small,” Sonia Jorge, CEO of A4AI, said in a recent interview.
This year, many carriers such as T-Mobile and Sprint in the US will bring this technology to many cities. However, to access 5G, people also need phones that are compatible with this super technology. The cost of buying new smartphones is also a big obstacle.
In Africa, feature phones still dominate the market, while smartphones do not have an advantage. Therefore, exploiting 5G technology in this region will not be able to create any major breakthroughs. Moreover, to deploy 5G networks, network operators also need a huge investment cost.

Organizations, agencies, and operators will need to work together to find solutions to help where inequalities arise. In his keynote speech at MWC, World Bank President Jim Yong Kim spoke of the potential of 5G to narrow the gap between rich and poor, when the technology is applied to healthcare services.
In the early stages, 5G may not be viewed positively because there are still too many obstacles to help the world become more perfect in the face of wealth inequality. However, operators will strive to bring this technology to as many users as possible.
