Many pressing issues need the intervention of the Provincial People's Council.

On the afternoon of July 5, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council held a press conference to announce the program and content of the 9th session of the Provincial People's Council, term XVII, 2016 - 2021.

Many press opinions were included in the activities of the Provincial People's Council.

At the press conference, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Cao Thi Hien reported on the socio-economic situation of the province and the results of the Provincial People's Council's activities in the first 6 months of the year; and announced the program and content of the 9th session of the Provincial People's Council, scheduled to open on July 10.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council also affirmed that the overall results of the province and the effectiveness of the Provincial People's Council's activities have the contribution and support of press agencies and journalists.

In particular, through the reflection of press agencies and journalists, many issues were selected by the Provincial People's Council to be included in the survey, supervision and questioning content at the meeting as well as the explanation and working sessions of the Standing Committee and committees of the Provincial People's Council.

On that basis, the Standing Committee and committees of the Provincial People's Council have discovered many inadequacies and limitations in management and administration at all levels and many issues of concern to voters and people to propose solutions and remedies.

Need to innovate the form and improve the quality of voter contact

At the press conference, highly appreciating the innovations and operational efficiency of the Provincial People's Council in recent times, representatives of a number of press agencies and journalists also raised many existing problems and limitations under the management and operation responsibilities of the Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches and localities, and at the same time hoped that the Provincial People's Council would take action.

These are the situation of some illegal mines that have not yet carried out land reclamation and environmental restoration after mineral exploitation; the handling of the degradation of National Highway 1A; compensation and site clearance work; the quality and responsibility of all levels and sectors in handling complaints and denunciations from citizens; the quality and price of domestic water; the quality of services and medical ethics at medical facilities; the issue of debt repayment for investment capital to build new rural areas...

The Provincial People's Council also needs to innovate the form and improve the quality of voter contact, avoiding the situation of only contacting representative voters and having to petition voters over and over again on many issues.

At the end of the press conference, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Hoang Viet Duong received comments and suggestions from press agencies and journalists to continue to study and include in the program of activities of the Provincial People's Council in the coming time.

Directly explaining many issues that journalists are interested in, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Hoang Viet Duong requested the Provincial People's Committee and departments and branches to accept and handle them.
