(Baonghean) -Assessing that household economic development is a prerequisite to improve people's quality of life and change the face of the locality, the Executive Committee of the Youth Union of Hung Tan commune (Hung Nguyen) boldly stood up to guarantee a loan of 1.5 billion VND from the Policy Bank for disadvantaged young families to borrow for production and business.

Thanks to that, the youth work groups such as masons, painters, electricians attract more workers, create jobs for young people after the harvest season and increase income. Economic development always goes hand in hand with social activities, identifying the responsibility of youth volunteers in gratitude activities, so the Commune Youth Union has launched a campaign for all union members and young people to save money and contribute to the "Gratitude" Fund to help families with difficult policies and families with meritorious services to the revolution.

Thanks to that, the Commune Youth Union has had a significant source of funds. In the past 2 years, the Union has helped and given gifts to more than 20 policy families. Although the material value is not large, this is a traditional education activity, showing gratitude to those who have contributed and reminding the younger generation of Hung Tan about the contributions of the previous generation. Along with that, every year on July 27, the Union organizes youth union members to light candles to pay tribute to martyrs at the cemetery in the area and organize traditional talks.

An impressive thing in the activities of the Hung Tan Commune Youth Union is the establishment of a Youth Volunteer Team with 30 members, ready to quickly respond to community assistance work, taking on unexpected tasks when necessary. The image of the Youth Volunteer Team going out to harvest rice to help people during the rainy season, cleaning up the environment and beautifying the village, preventing natural disasters, donating blood... has left many good feelings in the hearts of the people. In the past time, many Youth Union members have donated blood 3 to 4 times such as: Nguyen Huy Viet, Phan Thi Trang, Nguyen Trong Ba... This force is both the core in the blood donation movement and an active propagandist in mobilizing the masses to donate blood, many Union members have also encouraged their parents and siblings to donate blood.

In 2012, when the commune received the project: "Improving the ability to use computers and access the public internet in Vietnam" sponsored by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), the Youth Union consulted with the People's Committee of the commune and was accepted to manage and implement this project for free. With the aim of making everyone know how to use computers and access information via the internet, "The Union organized free training sessions on how to use computers and access the internet for all ages, from people over 80 years old to women. The computer room with 5 computers was also packed with people coming to search for information and study. This has truly become a "revolution" in the purely agricultural commune of Hung Tan", Mr. Nguyen Trong Tam - Secretary of the Youth Union of Hung Tan commune shared.

The day we arrived at the commune, we saw the image of elderly people attentively and carefully following each step to access the internet according to the instructions of the youth volunteer team or the muddy-handed farmers confidently "clicking" the mouse, proactively looking for information, techniques, and experiences in production and business. Mr. Hoang Minh Phung, hamlet 5, Hung Tan commune, who is in his 80s this year, excitedly shared: "Thanks to the enthusiastic guidance of the young people, I now know how to go online to read news from near and far. Thank you, young people, for doing such a meaningful thing, expanding knowledge for the people of my hometown. Every day I go to the commune to read online newspapers, watch domestic and international news."

To preserve, conserve and promote the Nghe An folk song heritage, the Commune Youth Union initiated the Vi and Giam Folk Song Festival, attracting a large number of young people in the commune to participate. This movement has been maintained for many years and has been enthusiastically responded by the people. In order for the folk song movement to truly enter the consciousness of each person, the Commune Youth Union directed the Youth Unions of 9 blocks and hamlets to establish 9 art troupes, regularly practicing to perform in large and small local events. With the above achievements, Hung Tan Commune Youth Union was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Central Youth Union and a Certificate of Merit from the Hung Nguyen District Party Committee.
