Looking back at the referee and supervisory work of the 2011 season: Clean, sorry...
Referees are just one of many parts involved in professional football activities. And, when the professional football environment in our country is not yet clean, demanding a large number of clean and ethical referees is a luxury.
View from 2 "perforated" TTs
VFF President Nguyen Trong Hy is a rare person who dares to say that our football is not clean. He even specifically names matches that have an “unacceptable” smell and that VFF needs to consider the solution of deducting points to deter dirty football.
If we zoom out, the mood of the National Referee Council (NCRC) is no different from Mr. Hy. That is, they also cannot control whether their players do wrong or not. Like the matches full of smoke and fire, blooming at the end of each season, forcing the organizers to ignore it so that the tournament can land smoothly. Once the organizers say there is no evidence to handle negative situations, the NCRC can also use that to protect itself.
Incidents like TT Cong Trong (right) in the V.HP-HP.HN match have caused a stir in the entire football world.
In this respect, the National Board of Directors is even more strict than the Organizing Committee and the VFF, because they have executed their own players thoroughly. TT Tran Cong Trong, Nguyen Van Quyet and Do Quoc Hoai were isolated from football life in 2012 or indefinitely.
The authority of the National Sports Council is only that, that is, to discipline the offending referees according to different levels. In front of the VFF president and the tournament director, the National Sports Council also reported the cases of the 2TT Cong Trongand Van Quyet is "not showing fairness". Some members of the Board of Directors also emphasized that blowing like that is "excessive, unacceptable".
When the National Board of Directors said so, it was no different than admitting that the two Presidents Cong Trong and Van Quyet had committed negative acts. If we link the developments of V.HP and the blatant support of the Hai Phong team of the two Presidents above, it can be seen as a bottleneck for the VFF and the authorities to "clarify". In addition to some "smelly" matches in rounds 24, 25, 26, if the VFF really wants to fight against negativity, it is not impossible. And, when things are clear, are there only ideological problems in the two cases above?
Of course, that does not mean that the National Referee Council does not look back at its responsibilities. Although it cannot control all the activities and thoughts of the referee, if it is sensitive, it can prevent the risk of the referee doing wrong or being "shot through" by money.
TT Tran Cong Trong was assigned to Lach Tray 4 times, in which 3 matches were beneficial to V.HP, the National Board of Directors must have known that, especially when V.HP offered a reward of 10 billion VND if they stayed in the league. Or, right after TT Trong made a mistake, they had to consider whether Van Quyet (the 4th TT in the V.HP-HP.HN match) had the ability to "proof the bullet" or not. However, they still sent this TT to Go Dau stadium to then referee in favor of V.HP. That makes the public even more suspicious of the impartiality in assigning TTs.
Metastasis
It can be clearly felt that those responsible for Vietnamese football are letting professional football develop spontaneously, they are waiting for the day when it will naturally enter the professional orbit, and the same goes for TT work.
That is an extremely dangerous way of thinking, because not only does it eliminate the negative seeds from the egg within the TT, but it also risks allowing the disease to develop into metastasis.
Therefore, while waiting for the Organizing Committee to take strong action against negativity (including referee negativity), the National Board of Directors itself must be more firm with its players against unhealthy mental manifestations. On the other hand, there needs to be more fairness in the Golden Whistle race and FIFA registration.
There must be a purpose to train and develop referees who truly have good professional ethics and expertise, without focusing too much on acceptable mistakes. For example, referee Hoang Anh Tuan is not inferior to his colleagues, such as Phi Long, in terms of overall performance, but his name is still not on the nomination list?
Only when the National Referee Council creates fairness and raises a movement to cultivate professional ethics and love for the profession, can we hope that referees will be respected by public opinion when they make mistakes.
Even if Coach Vo Minh Tri makes a serious mistake at Vinh Stadium, the National Board of Directors still defends him like "we have to trust Tri, he has a bright mind", and people in the profession truly sympathize and share, instead of saying "I love him so much" but in their hearts they feel happy because they have eliminated a talented and virtuous opponent.
Clean TT, sorry, because the whole village is mostly not clean.
