New life in Na Cang resettlement area
(Baonghean) - In 2009, Yen Tinh commune, Tuong Duong district was hit by a flash flood that killed 5 people, washed away many roads, damaged schools... The asphalt road through the center of Yen Tinh commune (Tuong Duong) took us to Na Cang resettlement area, which stands out with its bright red tiled roofs in the middle of the valley. The entire residential area is planned and arranged along both sides of the main road, which has been firmly poured with concrete. There is clean water, telephone coverage, and a synchronous infrastructure system. Ms. Luong Thi Moi, a newly resettled resident here, excitedly said: “My family used to live in Pa Ty village, which was the most severely damaged by flash floods, with nearly 60 houses flooded and 5 people killed. Now that I have moved to a new place, I feel secure and no longer have to worry about running away from the flood. Although there are still difficulties, with the help of the local authorities and the care of the villagers, I believe life will be better. Especially in the resettlement area, there is an asphalt road to the commune center, cars have come to the village to pick up passengers to Vinh City during the day. The children of the villagers can study in spacious schools…”.
