Every autumn, on the anniversary of the August Revolution and the nation's National Day, the elderly in Nghi Hoa commune tell their children and grandchildren the story of the seizure of power on August 26, 1945, which has gone down in the history of their hometown.

Mr. Nguyen Van Sinh in Hoa Tay hamlet, former chairman of Nghi Hoa commune People's Committee, is now 90 years old, his steps are no longer fast, his hearing is not clear, but he still remembers that historical event very clearly. He said: "At about 10 o'clock that morning, under the command of Viet Minh, thousands of people in the district came to protest at Ru Bua, Nghi Hoa commune.

The entire sky was filled with the red flag with yellow star. In the face of the revolutionary spirit, De Hien - a dignitary of the puppet government in Nghi Loc handed over the government seal to the Viet Minh. Immediately after that, the provisional revolutionary committee of Nghi Loc district, consisting of five people, presented itself to the people in Ru Bua and the uprising to seize power was completely victorious.

In particular, it focuses on simplifying administrative procedures, reducing inconvenience for citizens; enhancing dialogue with people, focusing on promptly and thoroughly resolving problems arising at the grassroots level, not allowing complaints and petitions to go beyond the level.

Thanks to the focus on building a strong government apparatus, the socio-economy in Nghi Hoa has always developed, especially in agricultural production. In recent years, Nghi Hoa has focused on introducing high-quality rice varieties into production. Commercial winter crops have also been developed, notably cucumbers on two-rice land with an area of ​​over 30 hectares, earning 10 million VND/sao/crop. In addition, there are 6 livestock farms in the area, each farm earns an average profit of 300 - 400 million VND/year.

Although it is a purely agricultural commune, in recent years, Nghi Hoa has focused on developing its commercial and service economy, especially in the Cho Quan area and the hamlets in the western part of the commune. Trung Thanh and Hau Hoa hamlets were recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as craft villages for the production and processing of agricultural products and food. Thanks to the diversification of occupations, the poverty rate decreased rapidly from 7.4% in 2014 to 2.89% in 2017, and the commune was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a commune that met the NTM standards. Although it is a special commune, political security and social order and safety are always stable.
