(Baonghean.vn) - After 4 days of deliberation, on the afternoon of November 10, the first-instance trial panel of Nghe An Provincial People's Court sentenced Nguyen Van Linh to life in prison and Linh's accomplices were also sentenced to 6 to 18 years in prison for the same crime of murder.

Through public questioning in court, the defendants' criminal acts were clarified: Due to a previous conflict that led to a fight between Nguyen Van Linh (born in 1989, residing in Nghi Phu commune, Vinh city), Chu Thanh Long (born in 1994, residing in Vinh city) and Nguyen Ngoc Hai (also known as Hai Co) - the son of the owner of karaoke bar NO (located in Nghi Kim commune, Vinh city), at around 11:00 p.m. on March 11, 2013, Linh, Long, Le Viet Tap (born in 1992), Nguyen Dinh Thi (born in 1990), Vo Quoc Hung (born in 1995), Le Nhu Lam (born in 1993), Hoanh Thanh Hieu (born in 1988) and Duong Bao Chung (born in 1994) brought weapons to karaoke bar NO to beat Hai.

Hoang Thanh Hieu and Duong Bao Chung threw rocks at the shop door to “lure” the people inside out. Lam drove Thi with a sword and drove straight into the shop door. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hong – the shop owner ran out with an iron bar and threw it at Hieu’s car, which was carrying Chung.

At that time, Vo Quoc Hung drove Chu Thanh Long, Le Viet Tap drove Nguyen Van Linh. Long and Linh jumped out of the car, used swords to slash Mr. Hong's arms and legs, causing his left leg to be severed and many other injuries on his body, leading to his death.

After committing the crime, Linh and his accomplices fled. On March 15, 2013, Nguyen Van Linh was arrested. Knowing that Linh was arrested, the remaining suspects turned themselves in to the investigation agency.

At the trial, the subjects confessed to their crimes. Considering that the crimes committed by Linh and his accomplices were hooligans and violent, and that some of the defendants were dangerous recidivists, after considering and assessing the level of crime of each defendant in the case, the panel sentenced Nguyen Van Linh to life in prison and Linh's accomplices to sentences ranging from 6 to 18 years in prison for the same crime of murder.
