Reuters reported that on April 15, foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G-7) industrialized nations affirmed that the West can only lift sanctions against Russia when Moscow fully implements the ceasefire agreement reached in Minsk (Belarus) last February and respects Ukraine's sovereignty.
The joint statement issued after the conclusion of the G-7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting held in the northern German city of Luebeck said: "The G-7 group emphasizes the close connection between the full implementation of the Minsk agreements and international sanctions. Sanctions do not end on their own, they are linked to Russia's full compliance with the Minsk agreements and respect for Ukraine's sovereignty."
