A group of students from the mountainous area of ​​Tuong Duong donated money to build a house for a friend.

The family of Ms. Le Thi Bao, in Khe Chi village, Thach Giam town, is one of the poor households in the area. She herself is often sick, her husband died early, raising her children alone, so the family's economy is even more difficult.

Previously, Ms. Bao's family lived in an old, seriously degraded house, but due to difficult circumstances, despite their efforts, they were unable to repair it. Understanding and sympathizing with the family's difficult conditions and circumstances, a group of classmates called on friends to contribute funds to build a house for Ms. Bao.

Mr. Le Xuan Manh, the person who initiated the call for friends to contribute funds to build a house for his friend, shared: “Once when I went to Khe Chi village, Thach Giam town to visit relatives, I coincidentally met Le Thi Bao, a classmate from 1986 - 1989 at Tuong Duong 1 High School, and went to visit her house. When I entered the gate, the first image I saw was a dilapidated temporary house with many pillars and could collapse at any time. Seeing my friend's difficult situation, I came up with the idea of ​​calling on friends from the same class to donate funds to build a house for my friend.”

It is known that after Le Xuan Manh called for donations, his classmates enthusiastically supported him, so after a short time, 50 million VND was raised. In addition, through his connections, Mr. Manh and some friends mobilized friends, colleagues, and relatives to support cement, sand, gravel, and other materials to build a house for his friend. The money raised was mainly used to pay the workers.

From the day of calling for mobilization and construction implementation, in less than 2 months the house was completed with a usable area of ​​more than 50m2.^2.During the house building process, classmates often took turns supervising the construction to ensure quality and progress.

On the afternoon of September 19, 2020, a very cozy inauguration and handover ceremony was held at the new house of Ms. Le Thi Bao. Upon hearing the news, many villagers came to celebrate with the family.

Moved and happy by the affection of friends and relatives inside and outside the village for her, Ms. Le Thi Bao said: “Before, when I was living in the old house, every time it rained, I got wet, and when it was cold, I was so cold that I turned purple. On stormy days, I could not sleep at night because I was afraid the house would collapse. Now that my friends have given me a new, solidly built house, I am very happy and think it is a dream. This meaningful gift will help me stabilize my life. I promise to work hard to produce and rise out of poverty.”

The work of Mr. Manh and his classmates is very meaningful, not only helping Ms. Bao overcome difficulties, but more valuable is multiplying love, compassion, and sharing that is very valuable.

It is known that in the past time, the government and the Fatherland Front at all levels of Tuong Duong district have had many activities for the poor, but this is the first time a group of friends voluntarily donated to build a house for a friend. Hopefully, this noble gesture will be increasingly spread and replicated to motivate those in difficult circumstances to have the conditions to rise up, so that no one is left behind./.
