Group of young people hacked Facebook and appropriated more than 2 billion VND
Authorities have just arrested a group of 5 young men who have consecutively committed more than 40 Facebook hacking cases, appropriating over 2 billion VND from many victims.
On the evening of September 2, according to Bac Ninh Provincial Police, 5 suspects were arrested, including Nguyen Van Anh (23 years old, the ringleader), Tu Thai Nguyen (20 years old), Phi Van Hung (23 years old), Phung Van Nam (23 years old) and Nguyen Van Luan (26 years old), all residing in Thach That district, Hanoi.

During the investigation, Bac Ninh Provincial Police determined that this group of young people had discussed and agreed to hack Facebook to commit fraud.appropriation of propertyof many victims.
To gain the trust of the victims, the subjects bought a bank account number with the same name as the Facebook account owner. At the same time, when someone suspected and called the subject, the subjects used a video recording of the account owner's face that had been provided in advance. Therefore, the victims trusted the subjects completely and transferred money to the subjects.
After knowing that their crime had been discovered and sought by the police, Nguyen Van Anh and Tu Thai Nguyen contacted Nam and Luan and were taken into hiding by these two people.
On the morning of September 1, Bac Ninh Provincial Police coordinated with Hanoi City Police to arrest the subjects while they were hiding in Nam Tu Liem District.

The investigation agency determined that from October 2020 to now, the above group of subjects has caused more than 40 Facebook hacking cases, appropriating over 2 billion VND from more than 20 victims in many provinces and cities across the country.
Bac Ninh Provincial Police seized evidence of the case including 1 car, 1 computer, more than 70 million VND and many related exhibits.
Currently, Bac Ninh Provincial Police have decided to temporarily detain the above subjects for fraud, appropriation of property and concealment of crimes, and continue to investigate and expand the case.
